Finally a blog

As good books do, the good blog too starts with the self titled post.
Think of the rock fan who has been waiting through out the show for his favorite riff, or Professor Paras who had been trying to execute the program 'Hello World' in C++. If they got what they wanted, it would be the same 'finally' which is reflected in the title.
Its not fair on my part to introduce Professor Paras all of a sudden to an unsuspecting audience. I will write about him in the next post. first the story of Finally.
It was long time back, ancient history for some, when i chose ratneshbolivar.blogspot.com as the blog url. Owing to thrilling combination of travel, job, attempts at job switch, laziness i didnt write any post then. One fine evening (that is today) when i am back from playing cricket (which took care of laziness), when i am back from visiting my parents (that took care of travel), delivery of project (which took care of job related bandwidth) and recession (which took care of attempts to switch jobs), i decide to write something. This content was as far from my mind as development is from Indian politician's mind. I thought of writing on elections.
Man proposes, Blogger disposes. The Blogger page indicated that i dont have a post and and cajoled me to create a blog. when i chose ratneshbolivar.blogspot.com as the blog url, it said the url is unavailable. That was tricky like the old bureaucratic rule which the Bade Babuji in government office quotes to put spanner in the wheel. May be there is a catch.
It was thence i chose the current url.

PS: i have few entries at another blog portal. If anyone knows how to get 'em here, dont hesitate to drop in a word.

Normally, i watch a movie, appreciate it, may be watch again ( V for Vendetta, Vanilla Sky), discuss with friends (Mullholland Drive), inadvertently pick a dialogue or two ( Lucky Number Slevin), try to draw parallels (Dev D- Trainspotting), quiz about it (Sholay). Personal Finance PS: a slow friday's afternoon. The intentions to write the posts remained pure intentions. Got to add a post on Lalit Modi and IPL.

My first political utterance was 'Janta Party Jindabad!' i was two years old then. From 1980 when the Janta Party fell apart like a pack of cards refusing to stay in the same deck, to 1984 when the sympathy wave for Congress (I) swept the opposition of their feet, there has been an talk amongst political analysts of India moving towards a two party dominance.
